JOHN TAYLOR, luxury real estate since 1864
Founded in 1864 in Cannes, John Taylor owes its name to its creator, a young Brit who was the catalyst for the growth of luxury tourism in the South of France. Today, thanks to its dynamic network and valued discretion, it has become an international reference in the sale and rental of prestigious properties. Headquartered in Monaco, John Taylor has just issued its first master licence to John Taylor Switzerland, which is committed to opening branches in strategic cities that are destinations of choice for an exclusive and international clientele, and plays a decisive role in the synergy and the growth of the network in Switzerland.
Interview with its director, Teresa Astorina.
Founded nearly 150 years ago on the French Riviera, John Taylor has become an international benchmark, not so?
The history of the company dates back to the 19th century when Sir John Taylor arrived on the French Riviera. He participated in the development of luxury tourism in the South of France by opening his first real estate agency in Cannes at the age of 30. He then managed an ever-larger real estate portfolio of exceptional properties for the British, French and American nobility and the political class of the time, including the Prince of Wales, King Edward VII, the French royal family, Lord Brougham and William Gladstone. It was then a family business taken over by the son, then the grandson. In the 1990s, Michel Pastor acquired John Taylor. In 2006, he appointed his daughter Delphine Pastor as President of the Group in order to continue the firm`s family spirit.
